Driving in Bali is a Pleasant Experience

With 5,000 km square of scenic road and stunning view of country side, from north to south is about 100 km and west to east is about 150 km.

Most of the road are smooth, some of the countryside road are bumpy and narrow. For those who drive must be aware of dogs and be careful as some road are narrow especially on the countryside.

There are some way to explore the island, public transportation is available which mostly used local people. District to district transportation is available by bus, while intercity is by bemo (mini van). Taxi is available only in Denpasar area. The public transportation is not recommended for tourist or visitor, since it is inconvenience and time consuming, while taxi is expensive for long drive.

To travel in Bali, rent a car is one of convenience options, rent a motorbike or bike cycle are another option for shorter distance. You have to have international driving license to be able to drive or use motorbike. Taking a tour package with a professional tour guide or rent a car with driver are another option.

Nowadays, the most convenience way to do tour around Bali, especially for tourist is by private charter. With private charter you can decide your own tour and places to see. Makesure the car you are hire is clean and airconditioning also accompanied by English speaking driver or tour guide.
